Kerry Wood, who will turn 31 next June, can exclusively negotiate with the Cubs until Monday at midnight. If no deal is reached by then, he would also be free to talk to the other teams in the league. The Rangers have shown alot of interest in the right hander, as well as Dusty Baker and the Reds. The Cubs have made it known they would like to have Wood audition for the closer role along with Howry and Marmol.
